This is Lucy's account of her latest outreach trip:
"These pictures are from our recent visit to the Palestinian village of Ras Atira. Shortly after this visit, the COVID-19 pandemic got a whole lot more serious, eventually leading to the tight restrictions we have today with the same ‘stay at home’ regulations as everywhere else. The West Bank and border crossings are now completely closed off, nobody can go in and nobody can go out, so, very sadly, this was really the last outreach clinic we were able to do. Tragically we are now not able to go in to try to give our help to those poor hard working animals as we have had to temporarily suspend our work there. We have no idea when any restrictions might ease, but it certainly does not look as though it will be any time soon.
"We held our latest clinic with the help of our amazing, kind, expert farrier, Hagai Ohana. We had told Hagai about the plight of the poor little brown mule with the deformed hoof, and he so very kindly said he would join us there to trim the mule’s hoof, and while there, he also trimmed a lot of other little working donkey’s feet too and a few dear horses. Our vet, Dr Nour, also joined us to treat a few ailments and wounds and the owners were so pleased and quite grateful.
"We know that right now everybody is fighting their own battle for their own survival and what a desperate situation it is, that we all now face - so the fact that there are people out there still remembering us and our work, means more to us than words can say.
We love you all and pray for your and your loved ones health and well-being. We appreciate your love and support to help us continue so very much."
